Tova's mother tells us

Itchy rashes are now a thing of the past.

- After just a few days, we saw a huge improvement! The problems with his legs had almost completely disappeared and the angry marks on his stomach were significantly paler. We could hardly believe our eyes.

When Tova was just under three months old, we noticed that her skin was dry and she had a rash on her legs. I tried avoiding cow's milk products for six weeks, but we didn't notice any immediate difference; on the contrary, the rash got worse over time. I wanted to believe that the problem was internal, so I increased my dose of Omega-3, but at the child health center, they insisted that it was an external problem and that we should moisturise softening. We applied "pure" products, oil, and cream, but there was no improvement. By this point, she also had red spots on her stomach, which the child health center said were typical dry spots.

We thought a lot about what was causing the rash, but didn't think she was in pain, so it wasn't until we realized that she was itchy that we started to panic. The realization that she had been itchy the whole time, but that small children simply can't scratch themselves, was almost more than I could bear. The itching may well have been the reason she woke up so many times during the night. We found this out when Tova was almost six months old and I had an appointment with a dermatologist for myself and took the opportunity to ask about Tova. The dermatologist said it was atopic eczema. She thought we should moisturise a mild cortisone cream and said it might grow out.

A few days later, we had our six-month checkup at the child health center, and the pediatrician there said the same thing: cortisone. I asked about evening primrose oil and other remedies, but they didn't believe in them and said that cortisone has a proven anti-inflammatory effect. I knew I didn't want to use cortisone because I didn't want to suppress the rash, I wanted to heal it, and besides, the list of side effects is daunting, to say the least.

"I haven't had to worry about dry skin or other skin problems at all for the past 3.5 years, and for that I am so grateful."

- Tova's mother

- I almost have to pinch myself when I see how beautiful her skin is. We are infinitely grateful!

Now began an intensive search for a natural alternative to cortisone. I came across Q for Skin's blackcurrant seed oil products through advice from a health food store and thought it made sense that they balance Omega-3 and Omega-6, plus the products are "pure," which is important to me. I bought oil and cream for Tova and capsules for myself, and we started when Tova was just under six months old. At this point, she had skin problems on her stomach and chest, neck, cheeks, a little on her arms, and on her legs, including her knees. She was very dry on the outside of her calves and almost sore on the outside of her feet, which she rubbed against each other. She scratched her chest and stomach with her hands, which was awful to see. At the same time as we started with the blackcurrant seed products, I stopped eating cow's milk, gluten, and sugar (I was breastfeeding). I had heard that skin problems like Tova's can be caused by sensitivity in the intestinal mucosa, and the hope was that Tova's skin would improve if we removed these foods from her diet and added blackcurrant seed oil.

After just a few days, we saw a big improvement! The problems with her legs were almost completely gone and the angry marks on her stomach were significantly paler. We could hardly believe our eyes. But after five or six days, things got worse again and at the same time, Tova caught her first little cold. We were naturally saddened by the deterioration, but I read a customer story on the website about a baby who first got better quickly and then got worse before getting better again, and I understood that this is often the case with healing processes. It got a little worse every day for about a week. We continued to moisturise at every diaper change) and use the capsules and diet, and we were careful about bathing her. We also took Tova to a chiropractor regularly to help strengthen her immune system. For several weeks, we didn't notice any improvement, which was obviously frustrating, but we wanted to give the products a fair chance and not give up too quickly. She had another minor cold during this time when the eczema got worse, but I think that's logical since the immune system is under greater strain during an infection.

Slowly but surely, she got better and better, and five months after we started, she is now completely fine! I still take the capsules but only apply the cream sporadically. I almost have to pinch myself when I see how beautiful her skin is. We are infinitely grateful! It feels so amazing to have achieved this result with the help of pure products, helping the body to take care of the problem itself.

Tova after 3.5 years

- It has now been 3.5 years since we got Tova's rash and dry skin under control with the help of blackcurrant seed products. Today, she is a lively and healthy little girl who is almost 4.5 years old and has no tendency whatsoever toward skin problems. She eats two blackcurrant capsules every day, year-round. She chews them and thinks they taste good, so she is careful not to miss them.

During the summer months, we do not apply any cream. In the fall, we apply Quick Repair Cream on the chin and cheeks once a day and apply Blackcurrant Oil once a month. During the winter months, we moisturize a little more, applying Quick Repair Cream to her chin and cheeks in the morning and evening and to parts of her body a couple of times a week, depending on her needs. We moisturize Tova's entire body with Blackcurrant Oil after her bath, but no more than twice a month.

She is not sensitive to sun, heat, or anything else, and does not get rashes, redness, or anything else. We are careful to maintain good eating and sleeping habits to strengthen her immune system, and in combination with blackcurrant seed products, we feel that she has strong and healthy skin.
