: How our face reflects how we feel

Article in Kurera:

After contracting COVID-19, Tove Oddsdotter experienced problems with her body, immune system, and skin. She, who previously had beautiful, delicate, and relatively problem-free skin, suffered from itchy and sore rashes all over her face. She was then advised to try a product line containing blackcurrant seed oil, and after just a few months, she saw a noticeable improvement.

Health and skincare have always been a major interest for Tove Oddsdotter, who is careful to give her body the best in terms of exercise, healthy healing food, and supplements. When it comes to skin care products, she chooses products that are as effective and natural as possible, with plenty of moisture and good fats. "

," says Tove. "The face is the part of us that we show to others, and much of our self-esteem and self-confidence is reflected in how we actually feel about ourselves." That is why it is so important to support the body both inside and out, Tove explains."We are what we consume; what we eat, drink, think, the environment we live in, how we socialize, what we read, watch, and how much stress we have in our lives. All these aspects are visible not only in our bodies but also on our skin. During periods when we feel worse, our bodies need more love and care, and it is our responsibility to give it that," says Tove.

Immune system imbalance

After contracting COVID-19, Tove began to experience several problems with her body, immune system, and skin. She, who had always had relatively problem-free skin, developed small rashes all over her face that itched and hurt. It turned out to be an imbalance in her immune system that caused chaos in her gastrointestinal flora and triggered the skin disease perioral dermatitis.

"I was surprised, because even though I had felt really bad at times in my life, with several traumas and deep depression as a result, it had never shown on my face. I didn't recognize my skin, and the rashes couldn't even be hidden with makeup. This affected me; I became introverted and lost my self-esteem.

After a while, Tove got in touch with a skincare advisor who recommended skincare products and capsules containing blackcurrant seed oil. After just one month, Tove noticed an improvement, and after another three months, her skin was completely problem-free again. She has been hooked ever since.

"I started with two capsules and am now up to four capsules at night, when the skin rests and repairs itself. During the worst period, I took six capsules for a while and noticed that the rashes disappeared even faster. After four months of using cream, serum, and capsules, my face is basically completely blemish-free," says Tove.

Nutrition from the inside out

The skincare products used by Tove contain blackcurrant seed oil. What makes this product so unique is that it is rich in easily absorbed omega-3 (stearidonic acid) and GLA (omega-6), which are so important for achieving soft, beautiful skin. These nutrients are found naturally in the seeds, in perfect balance and of good quality.

– If you have real skin problems, it doesn't help to just put products on your skin. It needs to heal from the inside, and capsules are perfect for this because they contain good fats, says Tove.

Although Tove is interested in skin care, she prefers multifunctional products. Not only to reduce the number of jars and bottles, but also for financial reasons, as the products are so economical and can be used from head to toe.

– I used to use organic skincare, but I often couldn't tolerate the essential oils; they made my skin itchy and red, and sometimes swollen. I actually spend less money on skincare today since I started using products with blackcurrant seed oil. They last much longer and I am very happy with the results.

Also helped with brain fatigue

Tove has now learned how her skin works and avoids excessive exfoliation, and she has also experienced other positive effects from the capsules she takes.

They have helped me with brain fatigue after COVID, as the fats in the capsules are good nutrition for the brain and also good for my dry mucous membranes in the lower abdomen, she says.

Today, Tove feels much better thanks to her beautiful skin, and she is very grateful for the products that made this possible.

"I admit that I am vain. Having rashes that are both ugly and painful affected how I saw myself. It was harder to find self-love when I was unhappy with my appearance. Now I have no rashes at all, except maybe a small spot on my chin when I have my period.

But most important of all for Tove is the realization that resistance and trauma are a gift if you choose to see them that way.

– I feel good today, have a positive outlook on life, and am happy most days, probably more than most people. We are not what has happened to us, but who we choose to be.
