Bibbi - "My skin is healthy and smooth again"

Article in Allers:

Bibbi Dahlström's eczema flared up due to stress. When ointments did not help against the red, itchy rashes, she tried blackcurrant seed oil. The symptoms gradually improved until her skin was smooth and soft again.

Five years ago, Bibbi Dahlström, 74, began to develop eczema around her eyes, ears, neck, and chest. The rash eventually spread to her hands as well.

"They itched and burned, and I looked awful, and even though I don't care, it felt sad. In the store and wherever I went, I felt people staring," says Bibbi. When the eczema didn't get better, she went to a dermatologist.

"I had been perfectly healthy my whole life and didn't understand why I suddenly had eczema. Bibbi herself suspected that it could be a side effect of the medication her cardiologist had prescribed for high blood pressure and high cholesterol just before the eczema outbreak.

"The dermatologist concluded that the eczema was more likely a stress reaction. I thought I was healthy, and it was devastating to learn that I was suffering from vascular constriction. I was in shock. But it explained why I had been feeling so sluggish and heavy," says Bibbi.

"In the morning, I usually feel my eyelids, which used to be so red and rough, and they are completely smooth."

Some time later, Bibbi underwent coronary artery bypass surgery at Sahlgrenska Hospital in Gothenburg. Thanks to her good physical condition, she quickly recovered and was able to continue training at Friskis several times a week. But the eczema persisted. Bibbi went to a new dermatologist who prescribed cortisone cream, but that didn't help either.

"It only temporarily alleviated the symptoms, then the eczema returned. It burned and itched, and now it spread to my chest, hands, and even my ear canals. I was desperate."

What really helped Bibbi's eczema was when she went to a health food store. There, she was recommended a cream and an oil with blackcurrant seed oil from Q for Skin. It's a company that makes natural skin and hair care products that are high in antioxidants and omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.

"It felt pretty hopeless, and I thought it would be amazing if it could help. So I tried it for a week but looked terrible. Never give up, I thought, and after two weeks the eczema got better. Since then, it has gradually gotten better and better. For a couple of years now, Bibbi has been completely symptom-free. Her dream of flawless skin without red, itchy rashes has come true. Today, her skin is healthy and smooth again.
