Stressed, reactive skin

Why does skin become stressed and reactive?

Why does skin become stressed and reactive?
01
Stress and lack of recovery

Stress and a lack of recovery can affect the skin's balance and make it more reactive. When the body is exposed to long-term stress, the skin can become more sensitive and react more easily to things it previously tolerated.

02
Skincare that strains the skin

Strong acids, peels, active ingredients and fragrances can be taxing for sensitive, already reactive skin. When the skin barrier is weakened, it can be important to simplify your routine and choose mild, nourishing and caring products.

03
Diet and nutrition

The skin needs the right nutrients and essential fatty acids to maintain its barrier function and its ability to retain moisture. That's why it can be worth reviewing both your diet and nutrition when your skin is out of balance.

04
Hormonal changes

Hormonal changes can affect the skin's moisture balance and sensitivity. During different periods of life, the skin can therefore change and need adapted care and more support to maintain its balance.

05
Weather and environment

Cold, wind, dry air, changes in the weather and other external stresses can affect the skin's natural barrier. Sensitive skin can then become drier, tighter and more reactive.

06
Sleep and lifestyle

Sleep, exercise, diet and recovery are all part of the bigger picture when your skin needs to get back in balance. Making room for recovery and good everyday habits is an important part of self-care.

Skincare routine for stressed, reactive skin

Meet your skin where it is today.

  • STEP 1

    Strengthen & balance

    MORNING
Rinse your face with lukewarm water and pat dry with a towel. Massage in Quick Repair Cream. Apply make-up, if using, after a couple of minutes.

    EVENING
Wash away dirt and the day's make-up with Cleansing Milk. This cleanser is applied to dry skin and then rinsed off with lukewarm water. If you wear conventional make-up, double cleansing is recommended. Massage Quick Repair Cream into your face.

Strengthen and support your skin from within with Q Omega Supreme.

  • STEP 2

    When your skin isn't reactive

Keep strengthening your skin from within with Q Omega Supreme. Add the facial toner Q Balancing Booster, which also helps to balance the skin, for maximum hydration. If you're still dry and want more radiance, you can add more natural oils that help the skin retain moisture. You can use the unscented Blackcurrant Oil or the lightly scented Intensive Nourishing Serum.

In that case, first apply a thin layer of oil/serum and then the unscented Quick Repair Cream or the lightly scented Intensive Nourishing Cream.

  • STEP 3

When your skin is in balance

Keep strengthening your skin from within with Q Omega Supreme. Once your skin has regained its proper balance, you can discover (or return to) Lingonberry Hi-tech Serum in Cream (day, night and eye cream, plus serum).

The facial toner Q Balancing Booster reinforces and enhances the effect of Lingonberry Hi-tech Serum in Cream. It is hydrating, evens out skin tone and has barrier-strengthening properties.

Extra tips along the way

Be patient with your skin. When your skin is stressed and reactive, it needs time, calm and consistent self-care to regain its balance. Keep your routine simple and introduce new products gradually. Listen to your skin and let its needs guide the way forward.

Customer stories

Hear what others are saying

"Christmas stress, sugar and gluten are a disaster for my complexion, which then breaks out in rashes and spots. Christmas 2024 really left its mark, but as early as January 2025 I started using Quick Repair Cream and Q Omega Supreme, and my skin got much better.

When Christmas 2025 turned out to be just as stressful again, with plenty of Christmas sweets, the consequences were nowhere near as bad as the year before. I felt that the support from within with Q Omega Supreme, together with continuing to use Quick Repair Cream, made a big difference."
